That is my picture in the header. Unfortunately I don't look that good in the flesh, small size and limited resolution hide the defects. I am Dr. Vernon Sandel, an emeritus Professor of Chemistry retired from Michigan Technological University. In 2006 at age 73 I became interested in starting a business on the internet selling a product I made myself. Having no prior experience and nobody to guide me, I made more than my share of mistakes. One of them was to get into a web hosting program that promised much but delivered little for the $80/month price. When I wanted to switch to a cheaper host I was told I couldn't because my web site was built with their copyrighted program and my free domain name was registered in their name. I felt like I was being held hostage. My story is told in the article Don't Make My Mistakes! That experience led me to put up this web site. I hope the articles and what I have learned about hosting can help others avoid some of the pitfalls in starting a business online. The affiliate marketing of web hosting is very competitive. Because of this and because I am a new comer myself I don't anticipate making a lot of money, but the cost of this business is largely time which I have plenty of for things I enjoy. One thing I have always enjoyed in life is helping others. Not only is it a command of our God, but it is also the source of satisfaction that builds self esteem.
