An Hosting An Hosting has an "All Inclusive", very
generous hosting plan where
everything you need for great hosting is included in the plan. No extra
charges! We host with An Hosting (hostingplanscompared.com) and our
experience has been very positive. Since we have multiple domains, it was
great to find out that statistics are provided for the addon domains. This
was not true of many of the hosts we investigated. An Hosting is actually owned and operated by MidPhase,
another well respected web site host. MidPhase was not listed in the
spreadsheet because hosting through the MidPhase name is more expensive.
Also, the MidPhase hosting plan, which is comparable to the An Hosting plan,
allows less domain to be hosted. By hosting with An Hosting you can host
more domains and get the same high quality hosting and the same technical
service at a lower price. In our "General
Considerations" discussion we warned of
situations where a free domain name is registered in the company name instead of
the customer's name. At An Hosting the free domain is registered in the
company name. Their stated policy
is that the domain name is automatically transferred to the customer after 60
days when the registrar allows the transfer. In our case this did not
happen until we asked for the transfer, which was freely given. Whenever your chosen domain is
registered in a host company name you should ask that it be transferred to your
name after the 60 days. With An Hosting this is done at no cost to you. An Hosting has not succumbed to the recent spate of storage
and transfer spec inflation that has infected most of the other hosts listed.
While the new specs sound good, they may be too good to be true. Most web
sites would never use more than a small fraction of the offered resources, so
advertising the "great new specs" may be just that, advertising. An
Hosting has subscribed to the Code of Ethics (see below) so they offer a more
realistic hosting package with plenty of resources. An Hosting is the only host that we can truthfully recommend from first hand experience since it is the only one that we have used. We have hosted with An Hosting (Midphase) since January 2007 and have been
pleased with the service overall. That does not mean that we didn't
experience problems, but they were few in number, not severe in nature, and
often not their fault. We have had good response from tech service though
it meant waiting on hold for quite a while at times. Their ticket system
was used twice and response came within hours. I would give them an "A"
for technical support.
Many people have expressed expressed frustration and some outright disdain
